What fires me up?

Sure, I love the arts and mental wellness. But what causes am I passionate about? See below and support them if you can.

LGBTQ Youth In Crisis

Only 7% of youth in the United States identify as LGBTQ yet 40% of the 1.6 million homeless youth in this country identify as LGBTQ. This means that Queer youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their counterparts (True Colors United, 2023).

LGBTQ homeless youth are especially vulnerable as many social service agencies are operated by religious organizations that aren’t friendly to Queer people. Even the religious agencies that are may be avoided by some because they left home to escape religious persecution of their identities. These youth may have to resort to survival sex, sex work out of necessity, losing educational opportunities, and exposure to live altering trauma.

I have personal experience. I am available to speak to your group on my personal experience and my ideas to improve the lives of LGBTQ youth.

Cats

Yes, those furry four-legged gremlins that run around the house screaming and chasing ghosts at 3am. In 2016, I adopted my first cat; followed by her roommate in 2018. Pet ownership has taught me so much about myself.
